Privacy Policy

Metricora (“we”, “us”) is a personal life-metrics app for web and Android. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how you can export or permanently delete it.

Information we collect

• Account data: email address and authentication details when you sign up with email/password or Google Sign-In.
• Entries and metrics: text and structured details you log (for example mood, sleep, nutrition, spending, activity, weight, tags, and related notes). This can include health and fitness information you choose to record. Metricora is a personal log, not a medical device and not medical advice.
• Preferences: category settings, dashboard layout, goals, and similar product preferences.
• Ask history: natural-language questions you send to Ask and the generated answers/charts stored for your account.
• Voice capture: if you use voice logging, the app requests microphone access to turn speech into text. On some Android devices, speech recognition may send audio to Google's speech service to produce that text. We store the text you confirm as an entry; we do not keep a separate raw audio recording of the journal item.
• Subscriptions: if you buy a paid plan on Android, Google Play and RevenueCat process the purchase. We store subscription status and entitlements, not your full payment card number.
• Reminders & notifications: reminder schedules, timezone, and (on Android, when enabled) device push tokens for notifications.
• Technical data: basic logs and diagnostics needed for security, reliability, and abuse prevention (for example IP address and user agent), processed by our hosting and infrastructure providers.
• Usage analytics: product-usage events (for example app opens and feature usage) sent to PostHog, our US-hosted analytics processor. Events use a random identifier, or your account ID once you sign in, never your journal content, and contain no advertising identifiers.

How we use information

• Provide your private dashboard, capture, Ask, goals, and annual report.
• Send optional reminder emails or push notifications you configure.
• Process entry text and Ask queries with an AI provider (OpenAI) to extract metrics and generate answers. Content is sent only to operate those features.
• Convert optional voice input to text (which may use Google speech recognition on Android).
• Maintain security, fix bugs, and comply with law.

Your entries are private to your account. We do not sell your personal information or use your journal content for advertising.

Health and fitness

If you log mood, sleep, nutrition, activity, weight, or similar details, that information is health or fitness data you choose to record. We use it only to power your private dashboard, insights, and Ask. We do not sell it or use it for advertising. Metricora is not a medical device and does not provide medical, mental-health, or nutritional advice.

Service providers

We use third parties solely to run Metricora, including:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting
• Netlify — web hosting
• Google — Sign-In (OAuth) when you choose that option, and speech-to-text when you use voice capture on some Android devices
• OpenAI — AI parsing and Ask responses
• Email delivery (AWS SES) — optional reminder emails
• Firebase Cloud Messaging — optional Android push notifications
• RevenueCat and Google Play — Android subscription billing
• PostHog — product usage analytics (no journal content)

Retention

We keep your account and app data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your authentication record and associated Metricora data (entries, preferences, Ask history, goals, reminders, share links, and push tokens) are permanently removed from our database.

Short-lived backups, logs, or cached copies held by infrastructure providers may persist for a limited time under their retention schedules, then expire.

Your choices

• Export: download your entries from Settings → Data.
• Delete account & all data: use Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and associated Metricora data and cannot be undone. Export first if you want a copy.
• Sign out: ends your session on this device without deleting data.

Children

Metricora is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
